Today I finally put it all together. I’ve been wanting to let loose the artist inside for a while, show it to others outside my group of friends and now I’ve done it. I set up my Etsy shop. And now I’ve put together the blog and a new Twitter page. I feel so put together now!
I started crocheting about when I was 7 years old. I watched my gramma crocheting, and wanted to be able to do it too. I started with granny squares, and made a huge blanket that I still have today, it doesn’t make any sense color-wise and isn’t balanced, but, “I” made it! Now I’ve been creating more complicated projects. I made a detailed throw for a friend’s graduation, baby blankets, hats, and so many scarves and wraps I can’t count them all. One of my friends still raves about her green fluffy scarf from years ago. Since so many people were enjoying these projects, I felt that it was time to start the shop.
As for jewelry, it has been relatively a new art outlet for me, about the last 10 years. Most of the jewelry I’ve made have either been gifts for friends or for myself. These are the most interesting things I’ve done, getting creative with the unique styles, metals and different types of beads. I can easily lose an afternoon creating earrings and necklaces. There is no limit to your imagination when you have amazing raw materials in front of you and the tools to create.
Now I’ve put this all together and released my inner artist. Time for the adventure.
