I’m back in my thoughts of what to do for my next project, fiber art this time for sure. I have just completed a project for myself recently. I haven’t made anything for myself in, well, ever, so I decided to go all out and use some of those yarn “leftovers” and make something just for me. Gotta treat yourself ever once in a year or so. I decided on a granny square afghan throw. I sorted my available colors, arranged them, and started off. It took me a little longer than I’d like because I kept feeling guilty because it was for me. Thus it took a backseat when other items, projects, scarves, jewelry, etc needed to me first. A word of caution when this happens, you forget what color goes where…. Yes, the orange is in the wrong place and now meshes too much with the red. I realized this after I had already sewed the orange squares in, so they weren’t coming out. C’est la vie Eventually I completed it and to where thought looked fabulous. Yay. I do really love it. I think it is bright, beautiful and the best part is I made it for me. Now I just need to keep my little helper away from it when he paws up blankets and circles around to nest for his naps. This is a “use under supervision only when around the dog” afghan. 🙂 Every once in a while it is nice to do something for yourself. This made me smile, and now I’m onto the next project for someone else, happy and hoping they will enjoy it just as much as I enjoy my little piece of yarn art.
