Ingredients
1/2 tsp dried basil or 1 tbsp fresh basil
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried rosemary (crushed in mortar and pestle)
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
1/3 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp shallot, diced or 1 tsp dried onion
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup cooking sherry
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 lb medium shrimp* (peeled, deveined and cleaned)
dash salt
pepper to taste
Directions
Combine basil, thyme, rosemary, cayenne and paprika in a small bowl and set aside.
In a large sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and shallots and cook for ~ 1 min.
Add the spices put aside to the pan, stir well.
Add the shrimp and cook for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 min. Add the sherry and Worcestershire sauce, stir again making sure all the shrimp are completely coated with mixture.
Add salt and peeper to taste.
Lower heat and simmer ~ 1 min until done.
Serve over rice or pasta for a complete meal.
*if larger shrimp are used cook up to 4 min after adding to ensure no raw shrimp remain.
