Moogly Crochet Along!

If you’ve never visited Tamara Kelly’s blog, Moogly, now is the time. I love her blog! I try to keep up with it but sometimes life does have other plans. This past week I noticed in my Moogly email newsletter that she’s already started the 2017 Crochet Along (CAL). Its actually already up to the 3rd Square but I decided to hop in anyway. And I thought the pattern for the sqare was pretty awesome so, why not? I mean just because I have 3 WIP and 2 that need final finishing, eh…. this will give me a change of pace. For those of you who’ve never partaken in a CAL, let me catch you up on this cool interaction. The Moogly CAL is for everyone and there are no sign ups or check-ins. You go at your pace as your time (and daily life 😳) allows. Over the course of the year, 24 free 12″ x 12″ (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm) Afghan squares are released every 2 weeks through November.  Tamara has thankfully kept the Afghan blocks online and free for infinity!! So if you miss a week or two, you can catch up. Another bonus of this is that her previous years CALs are also available on Moogly under the navigation menu Yearly Afghan CAL.  There are also Ravelry and Facebook groups for help and group thoughts. You can find me on Ravelry and keep up with the CAL progress. Tamara’s post also gives helpful tips on how to keep your Afghan squares 12×12 and how to block them to maintain the square shape. As for my first Square, I love it! I love the bright colours and I like the pattern. Please do ignore the stitch marker I forgot to take out before photographing it though….   I’m definitely staying with the colors. They are all Red Heart (either With Love or Super Saver) from JoAnn Fabric except the red-orange which is I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby. So here we go. If you want to join in with me, hop over to Moogly and click on the 2017 CAL link or just click HERE. Happy-crocheting!Edit
